Background
I want to tell you a little bit about Joe Tippens — the man whose story of using fenbendazole, a common dog dewormer, for cancer put this protocol on the map for thousands of people around the world.
Who Is Joe Tippens?
In 2016, Joe Tippens was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer that had spread throughout his entire body — his neck, stomach, bladder, pancreas, and bones. His oncologist gave him three months to live.
While enrolled in a clinical trial, Joe was also quietly trying something else: fenbendazole, a common antiparasitic medication used in veterinary medicine. He had heard about it through a scientist who had been studying it. He combined it with a handful of supplements and took it every day.
Three months later, his scans showed no evidence of cancer. His oncologist was stunned. Joe documented everything on his blog — My Cancer Story Rocks — and the story spread around the world.
The Original Protocol
222 mg daily, originally on a 3-days-on / 4-days-off schedule. Joe has since updated his recommendation to 7 days a week.
400–800 IU daily. Specifically the succinate form — not standard tocopherol.
600 mg daily of a bioavailable form. Standard curcumin has poor absorption — the form matters.
25 mg daily of full-spectrum CBD oil. Joe used this throughout his protocol.
Joe's protocol has changed a bit over time but the above protocol is what he originally used, himself. The updated Joe Tippens Protocol includes products offered by Ultra Botanica called Onco-Adjunct™.
Why It Spread
Joe's story went viral — particularly in South Korea, where thousands of cancer patients began trying fenbendazole after his blog was translated and shared widely. Research interest followed, with several studies examining fenbendazole's potential anti-cancer mechanisms.
What made Joe's account compelling wasn't just the outcome — it was his honesty. He wasn't selling anything. He shared everything openly, including his skepticism about whether it was the fenbendazole, the clinical trial, or something else entirely that led to his recovery.
That honesty is what led me to take his story seriously — and eventually to try a modified version of his protocol myself.
Joe Tippens documented his entire journey at My Cancer Story Rocks. It's the best place to read his story in his own words.
